Our practice modules are now complete with the addition of these two new PTE modules on speaking. We've put a lot of effort to ensure they are just right. Now we're quite keen for you to give it a try.

New: Summarize Group Discussion & Respond to a Situation modules

We've added two new modules to learnpte.com: Summarize Group Discussion and Respond to a Situation. These cover PTE Academic's newer speaking tasks that will appear on your tests, starting August 7, 2025.

Summarize Group Discussion:

You listen to a group conversation among university students and summarize the main points. Simple concept, tricky execution.

  • University-focused scenarios like group projects, exam stress, class participation, and academic challenges

  • A maximum of 3 speakers in a Male, Male, Female format or a Male, Female, Female format.

  • A duration of around 3 minutes.

  • You get 10 seconds to prepare and 2 minutes to answer the questions.

Respond to a Situation:

You're given a scenario and need to respond appropriately.

  • The situation is in the format - Background + Person + Goal

  • The goal is inherent within the question, usually to apologise, complain, suggest etc

  • Your responses will be in first person talking to 1 other person or a small group

  • You get 10 seconds to prepare and 40 seconds to answer the question

The feedback system

Both modules use our existing AI analysis:

  • Speech evaluation for fluency, pronunciation, and content relevance

  • PTE-aligned scoring breakdowns

  • Specific improvement recommendations
